Dean was raised in Detroit, Michigan. She began her career in business management and real estate, gaining more than three decades of experience as a licensed real estate professional and mortgage loan officer. She holds certifications as a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt and Green Belt, applying process improvement methods to social and economic reform initiatives.
